XTC 2018 kicks off in Norway

Kicking off Saturday, March 25th with an exciting sneak peek at new initiatives, XTC 2018 opens the season in Norway

Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) opens up its fourth contest in Oslo, Norway with its Official 2018 Kick Off Event. Beginning this Saturday March 25th and running through March 28th in conjunction with Oslo Business Region and Startup Lab, XTC will host a collective of the world’s most brilliant minds and extreme athletes to unveil exciting new initiatives and a completely reimagined landscape for the 2017 – 2018 season of the Extreme Tech Challenge.

Festivities will open with the Grand Launch Party on Saturday night where event host, Venture Capitalist and Co-Founder of Extreme Tech Challenge, Bill Tai will announce the opening of the application window for XTC 2018. Fans of XTC can expect to see some exciting changes this year, including the grand unveiling of XTC’s new design.

Joining Bill Tai as co-event hosts will be Managing Director at Oslo Business Region, Fredrik Winther and Partner at StartupLab, Co-Founder of WeWantToKnow and NxtLvl, Rolf Assev. Illuminating round table discussions will be led by some incredible guest speakers from the forefront of technology, engineering, healthcare, software, enterprises and extreme sports including: Director of Manufacturing Operations and supply chain engineering at Building 8, Facebook’s new hardware division Paul Herz, Advocate for Women in Technology and founder of the Women-Tech Network in Norway Isabelle Ringnes, Jamaican businesswoman, former founder & CEO of dating intelligence app Lulu Alexandra Chong, Red Bull Pro Athlete and Olympic Champion Skier Askel Lund Svindal, last season’s Wild Card winner MiniBrew, plus many more over the three day event.

Outside of mind-broadening discussions, the Norway retreat will give guests the opportunity to enjoy the local fare and majestic landscape of the surrounding mountains. Up for discovery are key networking opportunities amid adventures such as snow kiting, yoga, dog sledding, tech talks and so much more.

The Extreme Tech Challenge is the world’s largest startup competition with Sir Richard Branson as anchor judge and the world’s largest consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, CES, as a strategic partner for the semi-finals.
