Extreme Tech Challenge 2018 Announces New Finals Date for 4th Annual Competition

The world’s largest startup competition, Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) announces the date for the highly-anticipated Final Round, now set to take place October 19, 2018. Watch one of the top three finalists take the crown as the newest champion, decided by tech industry’s biggest names and Official Host and Judge for the finals, Sir Richard Branson. Beyond witnessing the finals, attendees have the option of arriving early to experience ACTAI Necker Island Week, a full island experience from October 14th through October 20th.

After careful consideration, the masterminds behind XTC, ACTAI Global has worked with Sir Richard Branson to shift this year’s finals, usually held in February, in order to help rebuild the BVI community that has been devastated by Hurricane Irma, the most powerful Atlantic Ocean hurricane in recorded history. Branson and the Virgin Group are covering all of Virgin Unite’s overheads- allowing Virgin Unite to give 100% of the donations received directly to the local BVI communities. Virgin Unite is working tirelessly along with Unite BVI, and Virgin Limited Edition to help aid the BVI community as sustainably as possible. A link to contribute donations can be found here.

Announced at CES® 2018, this year’s XTC Top 3 Finalists, fall into hot and growing global market categories including Data & Analytics, Blockchain, and Healthcare. These innovative finalists are Owlet Baby Care, a healthcare platform and baby monitoring system from Lehi, Utah, Power Ledger a blockchain-based peer-to-peer energy trading platform from Perth, Australia, and Revl, a smart action, AI-powered camera system from San Francisco, CA — all innovative concepts, worth a sharp review, that have the potential to leave a lasting, positive imprint on the world.

ACTAI Global and XTC would like to extend a special thanks 2018 Sponsors: Sompo Holdings, BitFury, Ally Ventures & Plug and Play, OWC, Zoom, Jungle Creations, Cisco, Qualcomm, Meltwater, Samsung, IBM, Semi Finals Event Partner CES and Finals Event Partner, Necker Island.
