XTC Announces Bitfury as Blockchain + Digital Currency Sponsor for 2019 Contest

Top Blockchain Firm Returns as Sponsor for Second Year in a Row

Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) announced today that the Bitfury Group will be the official Blockchain and Digital Currency sponsor for next year’s highly anticipated and acclaimed startup competition.

Bitfury was once the same size as many of XTC’s entry-level startups, but the company has since seen meteoric growth. Now one of the world’s most prominent full-service blockchain technology firms, Bitfury is sponsoring both the Blockchain and Digital Currency verticals for next year’s XTC. With a number of startups entering the Blockchain and Digital Currency verticals in recent years – especially 2018 — this branch of tech has become one of XTC’s most prominent.

Latvian native Valery Vavilov co-founded Bitfury in 2011 to build blockchain solutions that improve the services and systems that people around the world use every day. Bitfury is now the world’s leading full-service blockchain technology company and is making the world safer, simpler and more efficient by using blockchain to enable businesses, institutions and governments to successfully digitize their assets and safely transact them over the internet.

“We are thrilled to return as the sponsor of XTC’s Blockchain and Digital Currency verticals,” said John Mercurio, Chief Communications Officer of Bitfury. “Blockchain has quickly become an essential technology in our world and it is evolving every day, so we couldn’t be more excited to support budding Blockchain and Digital Currency startups that are finding new ways to make the world a better place.”

The Extreme Tech Challenge is supporting startups and exposing them to some of the world’s most brilliant entrepreneurs. The community created by ACTAI Global (athletes, conservationists, technologists, artists and innovators) has reshaped the way companies are established and how new technology is shared. With Bitfury leading by example, those who participate in XTC are given a rare chance to join a community of like-minded yet independent thinkers who together are transforming ideas into reality.

“We are extremely excited to announce Bitfury as a returning sponsor. The addition of the Digital Currency vertical to their sponsorship, alongside Blockchain, further showcases this branch of technology as one of the most prominent in XTC. We thank them for the support and are excited to see what technology they choose as the winner” Bill Tai, Co-Founder of XTC.
